Practice

Psychotherapy

For over 40 years I have been helping individuals, couples, and families
  • Improve their relationships, with spouses/partners, parents, children, siblings, or employers
  • Relieve the distress associated with anxiety, depression, anger, shame, or guilt
  • Address problematic behaviors and develop new habits
  • Adjust to life transitions such as loss of a loved one, divorce, chronic or life-threatening illnesses, or retirement

I have had extensive experience working with individuals and couples whose difficulties are the result of childhood traumas including the early loss of a parent and physical, emotional
or sexual abuse.

Professional Consultation

I have experience providing case consultation, discussions of theory, and/or exploration of countertransference issues. I am available to meet regularly (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) or on an as-need basis.

My Approach

My therapeutic approach integrates perspectives and techniques from a variety of therapeutic frameworks: psychodynamic, family systems, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal neurobiology, and mindfulness practice. This multidimensional perspective gives me the flexibility to provide you with a therapeutic experience that is based on your needs, goals, life experiences, and learning style.

I am active as a therapist, asking questions, making observations, providing information, and encouraging the development of skills that are essential to the development of emotional
well being.
